John Adams, The Death of Klinghoffer, London Symphony Orchestra, Released 2004 [more]

This was the hardest to stomach entry I have found yet: I thought it was horrendous. Now I agree that opera is not something I have much fondness for in general, or experience with, but I have made it through the rest of the operas with no problem (they make great background music for doing dishes– it makes you feel so important!) but this was grating to me. Maybe it was because I COULD understand the words– they just repeat over and over. Ugh. Glad to be through this one.
Thanks, Mike. Good to know the ‘worst’ of the operas is already over!
