This murder mystery is not as smart as it thinks it is, though it is mildly entertaining. From Guillermo Martinez’ novel, I’d bet it’s a pretty good read, but did not translate to the screen as expected. It won some awards for the music, which didn’t really strike me.
John Hurt chews up and spits out some of the scenery, but Elijah Woods is terrible. Leonor Watling (Lorna), and Julie Cox (Beth), just do not have anything to work with. Don’t bother.
