I’m just back from Vermont from over the weekend and the highlight was without any doubt, a tour of the Bread & Puppet Museum. I had a sketchy recollection of Bread & Puppet from the sixties and their activity in New York. They’ve been in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom for some years now.
After large pageants for many years, the show has been scaled back to weekly (Sunday) performances. I’m hoping to go back and catch the August 1st performance of the current pageant: The Decapitalization Circus & Nothing is Not Ready Pageant.
My friend David has performed in pageants past along with his daughter. His wife Sarah lived there for awhile and learned the art of stilt walking. The history of the group and the chance to see them in action this summer has me very excited.
