I had extremely low expectations for this film, so I was not disappointed. Actually came in a little better than I thought. But really. What a mess. The movie starts out as very nearly farce, slapstick – a cartoonish joke. I still can’t figure out what that was all about. When it settles in as an epic Western/Romance (with some WWII action thrown in the mix) it’s at least a little more coherent.
Spectacular vistas, so probably a movie – if seen at all – should have been seen in the theaters. On the other hand, a $10 buck tariff would not have been worth it.
Yeah, Nicole is lovely as ever and Hugh Jackman dashing. I’d say that Brandon Walters, who played Nullah, the half-caste orphan stole the film from both of them – if, that is, there was a film to be stolen.
