The Day The Music Died

big-bopper50 years ago today the music died. We’ve heard that many times today. Most talk about Buddy Holly – and he was a pioneer and a legend. Then there’s the Richie Valens story, which plays well too. We know them both for the cinema recreations. But what about The Big Bopper? I wanna give a nod to the original Mr. Big. A one hit wonder, ok. More a DJ than a singer (hey, HE was ahead of his time!)

Still, the opening of Chantilly Lace remains a classic intro. So while we remember Buddy and Richie, let’s not forget J.P. Richardson.  Heloooooo, Bayyyy-be!
