Choosing Movies

One of the reasons I’m rarely disappointed when I actually pay to go to the movies these days, is that I rarely go and am very judicious when I do. Today,  Away We Go opened and I almost went. Written by Dave Eggers and his wife Vendela Vida. Directed by Sam Mendes. Starring John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph. Rudolph, by the way, seems that rare SNL bird who is better post-SNL than while she was on. There’s also what looks like a scream supporting role from Allison Janney.

But after checking out the clips from the great website (which were funny), I got the feeling I had already seen the ‘best of’. I said to myself “DVD”. I went for The Hurt Locker instead.
