A comedy about two guys dying of brain cancer? Sounds like a bucket of fun. Ok, there are light and funny moments, but it’s not really a comedy. Or it is, but pretends it ultimately has a deep message. It doesn’t. And it’s not really a very good movie either. Jack Nicholson has his moments, but I don’t think he had the zest for this one. And how Morgan Freeman made time in his busy schedule for this movie is a mystery. But he’s steady and the usual Morgan.
This would have been an acceptable film as a made-for-tv movie. Only problem is that as a made-for-tv movies you’d be without Nicholson and Freeman. And then what would you have? Nuttin, honey!
You could think of this movie as a greeting card from Hollywood: Have a Nice Day!
